Layers of the Earth WORM

  1. Here was my first attempt at using the Xtranormal.com movie web site. I made a video to introduce an open response writing assignment in class, which we call WORMs! I showed the video a week ago, but just figured out how to post it on here. making the video was sort of easy to do once I got the hang of it....and the kids loved it! Especially when I made specific references to the school and their assignment. I encouraged them to check out the site and perhaps use it when we do some science research projects down the road! I actually made another this morning for a different assignment...was rushed, so not as good. I think it can be a fun tool for students to use for their own work. As is so often the case with our kids and technology, the 'novelty' wore off quickly for my own use with them, but I am sure it'd be fun for them to use on their own. I also showed the we3b site to a colleague who then asked her kids to write a math warm-up video for her! And so it goes....

  2. Hi Bob,
I thought this was a great introduction - funny and engaging. I need to do more of this - I mentioned it to one of our teachers and she was intrigued too. Thanks for sharing it!

  3. Ah, you posted the WORMs video. I still love the humor in the video. Nice work. Did you use the i3 tutorials to figure it out?

  6. Hi Bob,
Loved your Worms! My fourth grader had an animal project due last week and one of the choices for presentation was to make a movie or video! I am sure your class as all classes would enjoy this! Will check out the tutorial!
